Alexander Cherkassky - Senior Director/Franchise Head with Fluidigm


As a biochemistry student at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, Alexander Cherkassky authored a book chapter on metal binding by soil components and won a Sears B. Condit Honor Award for outstanding scholarship. After graduating summa cum laude with his bachelor of science, he entered the first graduate degree program for bioinformatics on the East Coast. Alexander Cherkassky completed this Northeastern/Boston University program in 2002.

While working toward his undergraduate and graduate degrees, Mr. Cherkassky concurrently held a number of professional scientific positions in areas related to bioinformatics, genomics, and analytical chemistry. In the late 2000s, he returned to the academic environment to secure a master of business administration with a concentration in technology management from the New York Institute of Technology, which he earned summa cum laude.

For the past 22 years, Alexander Cherkassky has held R&D leadership positions with prominent medical equipment manufacturers such as PerkinElmer and Thermo Fisher Scientific. Now living in Wayland, Massachusetts, he has spearheaded mass cytometry and spatial tissue imaging operations for Fluidigm since 2018.
